...day TEN...

I might not have mentioned before that we came all this way to attend a Papa Murphy's Franchisee Association convention. Thus, the change in sleeping quarters to a hotel and thus the meetings we THOUGHT we were going to attend before Kevin switched religions to worshipping the ivory throne! So the fact that he's sick and in bed and NOT able to attend, is somewhat laughable after our JOURNEY all the way here! But I guess it is what it is....

I slept in since I didn't think he'd budge to get out of bed, showered and to the first meeting by 8am but then I finally decided to get myself ready just on the off chance, he perked up and was gitty about attending. And soon after that, he did get up and announce he felt MUCH better and he'd see me down there! See, I told you that would happen, especially if I slept in...

So we pretty much attended meetings most of the day while the kids spent the first half of the day with Grandma and Sarah. The boys got to go swimming and "perform" for Sarah in the freezing pool! lol

And then the boys got to come down and join us for the meeting lunch for a bit. We took some food back up to the room to Esther and Grandma and then re-joined the last part of our meetings.

Meetings over.... we solved all the world's problems and pizza will live happily ever after in the universe.

Relaxed in room a bit until Mr OCD decided the big boys' stuff needed to be re-organized and cleaned up ONCE again!!! Well we were also getting ready to check out the next morning so he's doing that "thinking ahead" thing again! (It's a good thing I married him b/c sometimes that part of my brain goes on vacation! Lol)

After our clean-up intervention, we decided to take the kids, give Grandma a little piece and quiet and go out for some dinner and shopping.

Let me just explain one addition to our top ten travel tips! GPS phone maps.... not always reliable! We were looking for a nicer mall where we might find a restaurant and some stores where we needed to pick up a few things. I thought we passed one on the freeway going to and from our hotel so I thought that's what I located in my phone map. Now don't forget, everywhere we go we are driving a 31' motor home! We followed the directions to the mall perfectly and ended up being led through a residential neighborhood with several turns and twists. Of course the whole time we are doubting our route but we keep following it anyway. It finally did lead us to the BACK side of the mall at the end of one of the residential streets! Lol We drove around to the front side of the mall, all the while thinking to ourselves that this mall might be a tad on the sketchy side and not really what we are looking to walk our four kids leisurely through! Lol Scrapping this destination in search for a better fit soon became a reality.

Destination no. 2 pinpointed and routed on my phone! We head down the highway and follow the step by step directions precisely. I did notice something in the overview of the directions about a toll road. Okay - fine - no biggy, we'll pay the toll and go on our merry way, right!?! I mean, I know we don't have them in Central Oregon but they aren't rocket science or anything. Well as we proceed further through our step by step directions, it becomes apparent that we are headed for the airport! I check and recheck the directions, nope no wrong turns, we are following them just as they say!

Then we approach the entrance to the airport for real, where you have to take a parking for like short or long term parking, etc.... I mean now we are laughing taking a 31' motor home to the airport! Lol Kevin grabs a ticket out of the machine but then pulls over in the area for returning/exiting the airport. He uses his manly intelligence to scrutinize the GPS directions and concludes that I was reading them correctly. He then says, "alright let's just go with it! If nothing else it will be blog material!" Lol - oh boy! Now we are following crazy paths for YOU people! This blog thing might be going just a bit far!!! Lol :p

We kept driving towards the airport terminals and wouldn't you know it, the road actually went through and past the airport and out the other side! Apparently that was our toll road! We paid our $2.00 toll or short term parking and exited out the other side of the airport. Wow! Well I guess it all turned out okay, thanks guys! :) We arrived at our mall of choice because of you!

And it was a great mall, just what we were looking for.... a fun restaurant, and just the stores we needed, maybe a few extra too! :)

We closed the mall up finding a few good deals and headed back to the hotel to Grandma.

Mr OCD had us clean some more and pack all our bags for taking off first thing the next morning. He loaded everything into the motor home that night and announced that we were take off by 7am the next day. YES SIR!

PS. I've mentioned several times about the babies "tents" that they sleep in. So I thought I'd give you a visual of what I'm actually talking about...

This is Esther's tent. It sits on our bed while we are driving. When we are stopped for the night it goes down on the floor by our bed because the slide on the motor home is out when we are parked. Back in the era of the older boys all we had were playpens (or pack n plays), which are great and we still use at home during school time but they weigh about 500 lbs compared to these tents! Plus they fold up to the size of about a small bike tire or 1 1/2 pizzas - maybe. Anyway they are great and we love using them for the babies when we travel! :)

This is Reed's tent. We have a railing on the side to, hopefully, keeping him from rolling off the top bunk! So far so good! :)
