...day ELEVEN...

Good morning! I really wanted to work out one last time before we headed out so I set my alarm for 5:30am! Yes! Totally ridiculous for being on vacation but that time alone exercising is like oxygen to me and I figured I could get a cat nap in on the road, right!?! :) But there's one slight problem.... the driver wanted to pull out at 7am! And considering I usually work out for 90 minutes - that doesn't jive! Lol So I got up and headed down to the workout facility and banked on the drivers suggestion being more of a suggestion! lol Nope! 7am he texts and asks where I am and suggests that perhaps I got "leave" at 7am mixed up with, "get up" at 7am! Lol But being the gracious and loving husband that he is, he kindly forgave me and started loading the motor home! I got showered, we got everyone up and into the tin can and away we went! After a (not) quick stop at the near by Starbucks, we hit the road - yet again!

Goodbye Texas! :( It was so nice to meet you and our designated tour guide was outstanding! We highly recommend her! :D

We made it down the road to Witchita Falls, TX where we stopped and met some PM owners and got to see their store. We chatted with them for awhile, grabbed a quick bite to eat (where I finally spotted some toilet seat covers! Come on - sometimes it's the little things! Lol), gassed up and were on the road again.

We arrived in Amarillo, TX (again) and the driver wanted to stop at a truck/rv stop where we could dump the waste tanks and fill up with water. So he did the water part and then began emptying the waste tanks but realized....

THE TANK WAS NOT EMPTYING ALL THE WAY! Not to gross you out but we could see right down the toilet that "things" were not a' movin'! Can you say plugged RV toilet!?! Yee haw! That's just what I wanted when it feels like 115 degrees outside! I quickly pulled my brain {iPhone} out and googled "plugged RV toilet!" It said to try putting water tubing down the toilet to clear the blockage between it and the tank since it's flexible it will bend through the toilet to the tank. Luckily the driver had an extra water hose so we tried shoving that down the toilet into the tank.... NO LUCK!!! wah, wah, wah.... Now what to do with the {slightly dirty} hose? Lol Okay, carefully put it in a garbage bag and dispose of said hose - never to be used again!

What a good big brother, entertaining and holding the littles while we worked in getting the tanks dumped at a truck/RV stop. :)

Next online suggestion... plungers! So we asked at the location we were at if they sold plungers - nope! Pack everyone back in the tin can and head down the road to Walmart. The driver comes out of Walmart with a plunger and some other funny thing. I think it was something for a refrigerator!?!

Attempt #1 - plunger:
I know you guys are totally going to LOVE this photo of our magnificent amazing impressive multi-talented driver/plumber! Lol

Attempt #1... FAIL! :(

Attempt #2 - fuzzy refrigerator item:

Attempt #2... YAHOOOOOO!!!!!!

Silly fuzzy refrigerator item worked! We were so happy! It was a happy moment for all - including our noses!!! :)

Time to celebrate! Our TX tour guide had spouted the praises of some place called Braums, for inexpensive and yummy ice cream! And there just happened to be one across the street from the scene.

Back to the road after quite the delay.... headed to Albuquerque, NM tonight so the drive ahead was going to be a haul still! We filled up with gas and away we went!

Look at him! ❤️ Still chuggin' along filling us up yet again and all with such a great attitude!

Even grandma is still smiling! :) What a trooper she is!

And sometimes traveling is just exhausting and you gotta give in to the heavy eye syndrome! :)

FINALLY we spotted the light on the horizon for the long day!

Only a couple more hours and we'd be at our nights lodging. Guess I better get on it and find us a place to pull in that night! Lol The first half of the trip we had our nights pretty well scheduled out and reserved ahead of time. This second half of the trip we were definitely playing it a little more by the seat of our pants. We altered a nights destination so we could spend an extra night with my aunt in AZ. So I looked up RV parks in Albequrque and read the reviews on them.... one had apartments looking down on it, one had kids and dogs running around being noisy at all hours of the night, one was little more than a parking lot, one a manufactured home park with a couple RV spots to rent out and one had some permanent RV residents {never a good sign in an RV park! Lol} plus then my mom announces that she heard there was a murder a couple blocks away from the KOA. Who knows if it was last month, last year or 10 years ago - but I mean, does it really matter!?! lol I picked a place that looked "the best" {relative term} and called to book a spot. The problem is, it was clearly past "office" hours so I only left a message. I don't think most places are like the creepy guy in Raton, NM last time that wait up for their guests and spy on them as they are coming off the exit! Lol We have camped before but we aren't all THAT familiar with rv'ing etiquette. Do we proceed anyway, pull in & find a spot and pay in the morning? Or is that rude and will they come kick us out in the middle of the night? That would not be so good! Lol :p So we pulled in, took a look at the registration office, saw one spot that was reserved for another name but that's it. We decided to go ahead and see if we could find a spot and there were several empty at the BACK of the campground. It was around 11pm and everyone in the motor home was asleep, including Grandma so needless to say we were all ready to be done driving for the night, especially our stud driver! :) Thus we pulled into a spot and took our chances. It ended up being just fine the next morning and there were even night check-in forms that were located on another door and we missed. It ended up being a cool little vintage Route 66 place to stay. Pics to follow tomorrow.... :)
