...day SIX...

Pulled out of Raton, NM at 6:59am thanks to the energizer-bunny driver who got up at 6am to once again get us all unhooked and ready to go! You do realize that means putting on gloves and unhooking our sewer line and making sure it has all drained properly! Yes, with me now... "EWWWWWW!!!!!!"

We did get a few beautiful pictures of where we stayed last night before we took off...

By the way... priority #1 in Raton, NM = FAIL! Lol Raton, NM is only 6,600 people so unfortunately Starbucks doesn't consider that worthy enough for a location. Maybe next big town?

Let's talk weather, no let's talk packing, no let's talk BOTH! Okay - sounds like a great idea Krista! (please excuse me while I talk to myself - really has the trip come to this? Lol 🙏) We have gone from severe winter temps... 18 degrees and snowing to now headed towards Dallas, TX today where it is high 80's. Can you now see the packing portion of this conversation (I'm apparently having with myself!)!?! Yes - I have packed clothes for myself and the littles that includes everything from winter coats to shorts, skirts and swimming suits! AND.... (that's a big 'and!') having to contain all of that into husband-approved amounts! Lol Let's just say it was challenge #1!

So today brings forth a change of wardrobe from winter to summer! :) (time to shave the legs! Lol - oops! tmi? Lol)

Hello from Prince Charming! And yes, he really is happier than he looks! lol :)

Email from Casper, WY campground... Reeds famous Viking hat left at campground! 😭 They will graciously send it to us!

LOST ITEM #2... Reed's Viking hat

Yahoooo!!!! 😄

And FINALLY priority #1 realized in Amarillo, TX! Hallelujah! 😄

OPERATION TEXAS MUG... fail! :( But they have to have them somewhere in Texas, right? I mean Texas has got to be bucks mug worthy, right?

Time to get some energy out before our 6 hour stint into Dallas...50 jumping jacks!!! :)

Gas up after Amarillo Starbucks...

He must have seen the light about how wonderful this family trip is so far!!! Lol 😜

Even some fresh (or not) Amarillo gas station flowers for you, complete with Christmas garland! :)

Normal road trip activities ensued... eating, napping, blogging, diapers, sippy cups, cows, cows and more cows!

And then we stopped at a rest area for a quick leg stretching and some microwave use for a late lunch. Wow! Texas knows how to do rest areas! It was so nice I almost expected free wi-fi service and a Starbucks (okay - that might be taking it a little far but a girl can dream, right?)! Let me show you what I mean...

Not the usual rest area signs you'd see in the Pacific NW! Lol

Back on the road again for our final leg to Dallas!!! Yahooooo!!! 😄

Fun to see these as we've been driving along! Lots of oil around these parts - I mean, in case you didn't know that already! :p

We even do hair in the moving tin can! Esther's first braid courtesy of grandma! 😍

Well this is the space that you should see a fabulous picture of our dear Sarah whom we finally got to meet up with for dinner when we arrived in Dallas! That happened after the driver took a bump and a turn with no warning and a metal bin of plastic cutlery (who calls it that anymore besides my mother?), napkins and toothpicks (that were raised up in their container with rice) went FLYING around the motor home! Yaaaa!!!! So much fun to clean all that up! {insert heavy sarcasm - once again!} But to Prince Charming's credit he did pull over and come participate on the cleaning crew! Alright now to move across the street and down a few parking lots with the behemoth tin can so we can only walk 2 blocks to the restaurant instead of 5! Wow! The chauffeur is super excited to drive throughout Dallas tomorrow in his little mini (HA HA HA) while we do some sight seeing!!! Lol :p

At any rate, the moral of the story was - amateur blogger fail - for not getting a picture with dearest Sarah after driving across the country, I mean half of Texas (like it's own country) and the rest of the country, to see her!

But the good news is.... there's always TOMORROW!!! 😄

Until then....
