Yes, it's true! We decided to take a road trip! So here goes nothing... we'll try our hand at this blogging thing as we go along. But be forewarned...
1) I like exclamation points, smilies and "lol" (just say that's how I get thru life, especially on a road trip with 4 kids - 12, 8, 2 & 1 plus grandma!) Guess you gotta... "smile & wave boys, smile & wave! :)
Let me forewarn you that when there are seven people, there is NEVER going to be a photo where everyone is looking at the camera, smiling and cooperating! Unless of course, we enlist the services of a professional photographer and circus - neither of which we brought with us. Oh darn! So just get used to it now and use your imagination on the photos and pretend everyone is cooperating.

2) I really like commas and most likely do not use them as they are intended so just see them as my device to add in extra information and take a breath.
3) I have never blogged before... I might tell you too much and yet not enough sometimes!
4) "Hi - my name is Krista and I'm married to a vacation cleanliness and organizational nerd!" Come on now, altogether... "Hi Krista!"
So on with our adventure that's absolutely going to be all fun, getting along perfectly and no need for discipline - oh oops - sorry I was dreaming for a minute there - yes, it's going to be an "adventure!" Let's just leave it at that and you can fill in the blanks knowing the present company on board... really specifically a ONE & TWO year old... did I mention a ONE & TWO year old who are both still in diapers and are of course taking in every site and sound and embracing the incredible educational trip that this is - oh wait... there I go dreaming again! Lol
A motor home, 7 states, 7 people and 17 days... Yahoo! HERE WE GO! :)
We headed out on Sunday, 4/29 at noon.... Okay that was the plan, it was really 3pm after we dropped off two friends that were staying the night. But that was perfect, since Mrs Carrillo could take our initial "take off" photo (while we were all still sane) before hitting the road!

The other blessing upon our departure was the sweet and thoughtful 'Bon voyage' basket that Mrs Bergler & family was so kind to put together for us! Really truly - it's like she knows our family or something - with a little something for each of us! This made me smile! :)
Our first "emergency" stop was a (shall-remain-nameless) child needing a bathroom stop, of course, right as we headed out of Bend! We attempted to stop at rest area in Brothers but these silly orange cones kept us from entering. So against his better judgement, father let said child use the facilities on board! Phew.... accident averted!
Here he is on our first gas up.... and no, he's not actually pumping it himself because we were still in Oregon! But it was a prime photo op - so go with it, okay!?! He's THE MAN - that's all there is to it, so we "photo op" him every chance we get but chances are it will either be driving or pumping gas. And I did NOT ask what it cost to fill up our 7 person traveling on wheels home that really does include the kitchen sink!
And our dinner stop in Ontario, Oregon where the nice hunters across the restaurant from us tried to converse with the littles only to come up close and get a high five out of Reed and bring Esther to tears! lol
Popcorn was the free appetizer... kind of like the peanut idea. The kids loved it! :)
Grandma gettin' in the spirit of the trip and giving us a "Reed" smile!
Don't ask... they're boys!
Reed figures out he likes dill pickles... this one happens to be on a stick.
We finally hit the road again and made it to Boise, Idaho about 11:30pm Sunday night. Yes we were supposed to be there around 5-6pm but that was under the assumption (BIG assumption) that we were going to leave Bend at noon! Lol Our dear friends, the Franks, were kind enough to allow us to park outside their house and plug in for some electricity. I'm sure their whole neighborhood heard us trying to get everyone situated and in bed for our first night, which of course, was a delightful experience! Lol But we made it and all got some good sleep - except for the driver - my hero - he had trouble adjusting to his new luxurious kings quarters. Better luck on night two for our dear chauffeur!

This is fantastic! I look forward to 'lol'ing with you along the way :) thanks for sharing!
